About the panel

There are varying methods and assumptions involved in calculating reduced carbon emissions through avoided deforestation and forest degradation which lie behind ongoing debates regarding the validity of carbon credits generated. This panel will explore the context and implications of these developments. The panel will also open up discussion as to how background rates of forest loss can be best quantified to meet stakeholder expectations.
